IB Results 2025: Zlatarski Graduates Earn Places at Leading Global Universities
50 students from Zlatarski International School of Sofia sat the May 2025 exam session to acquire their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme diplomas and certificates. This is the largest IB Diploma class in Bulgaria. For yet another year IB results at Zlatarski International School are comparable to the results of the best international schools in the world. Zlatarski graduates of the Class of 2025 have done outstandingly well in their university admissions this year being admitted to university programmes in the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, Spain, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, France, Austria and United States where they are expecting to become economists, doctors, journalists, lawyers, engineers, computer specialists, politicians, etc.

This year more than 70% of the students achieved excellent results in their IB English certificates and students achieved more than 60 excellent IB grades, either 6 or 7 (out of maximum 7) in their IB subjects. Our students achieved top results in Bulgarian language and literature, English language and literature, History, Economics, Digital Society, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, German, Spanish and Theory of Knowledge. Above all, most students at Zlatarski International School have also worked towards achieving the Bulgarian national diploma with very good and excellent marks. Alongside the Bulgarian national system, we educate our students in first-class international programs such as Cambridge Secondary, IGCSE and the International Baccalaureate, and this is what makes their preparation for prestigious universities possible here in Bulgaria.
More than 202,000 students from over 136 countries have completed the International Baccalaureate program in 2025. The most prestigious universities open their doors to them. The IB experience is priceless, teaching our students the ability to understand and be successful in a global society.

Top International Baccalaureate scores of Class 2025:
In IB English nearly 70% of the students achieved excellent marks. The highest scores 7 (out of maximum 7) were received by Silvi Koleva, Nia Karamfilova, Alexander Sharpe, Mihail Gaydarov, Martin Boyanov while many other students received excellent marks 6 (out of 7) at high level including Anabel Garcia, Amalia Markova, Diana Garnizova, Todor Samardjiev, Stephanie Syarova, Nancy Hristova, Izabel Madjarova, Viktoria Grozdanova, Edzhe Aksoy, Boyan Kabakchiev, Silvia Stoitseva, Mira Kaneva, Alina Drangajova, Hadi Halaui, Ventsislava Stoykova, Eliyah Roth, Antoaneta Ivanova, Stefan Oresharov, Ivaylo Timanov, Sevay Atakan, Mikhail Bartuli, Elizabet Vangelova, Boris Milev, Anton Ivanov, Mina Pavlova, Boris Kostadinov, Lidia Galabova, Hadi Ezzedine.
In IB Bulgarian the highest scores 7 (out of 7) belong to Silvi Koleva, Mira Kaneva, Amalia Markova, Alina Drangajova, followed by the excellent IB grades achieved by Martin Boyanov, Viktoria Grozdanova, Izabela Madjarova, Edzhe Aksoy, Yoana Ilieva, Silvia Stoitseva and Mihail Gaydarov.
In IB History, the highest achievements belong to Viktoria Grozdanova, Silvi Koleva, Mira Kaneva, Amalia Markova, Silvia Stoitseva, Alina Drangajova, Diana Garnizova while in IB Economics the best results belong to Edzhe Aksoy, Nia Karamfilova, Mikhail Bartuli, Alexander Sharpe, Mihail Gaydarov, In IB Digital Society, Ivaylo Timanov, Alex Sharpe and Mihail Gaidarov scored the highest result this year.

In IB Biology the highest scorers were Nia Karamfilova, Amalia Markova and Silvi Koleva, while Nia Karamfilova had the highest result in IB Chemistry. In IB Physics the highest marks belonged to Edzhe Aksoy and Alexander Sharpe.
The best results in IB Mathematics belong to Alexander Sharpe, Mikhail Bartuli, Nia Karamfilova, Mihail Gaydarov, Amalia Markova.
In IB German maximum results 7 (out of 7) was achieved by Anabel Garcia, followed by the excellent results of Stefan Oresharov, Mikhail Bartuli, Edzhe Aksoy, Mina Pavlova, Silvi Koleva, Martin Boyanov, Lidia Galabova. In IB Spanish the highest marks belong to Alina Drangajova, Diana Garnizova, Stephanie Syarova, Izabel Madjarova, Elizabet Vangelova, Anton Ivanov, Viktoria Grozdanova and Mira Kaneva.
The strongest diploma Extended Essays were awarded to Sevay Atakan, Mihail Bartuli, Elizabet Vangelova, Edzhe Aksoy, Boris Kostadinov, Amalia Markova, Alina Drangajova, Yoana Ilieva, Kamen Kostadinov, Viktoria Grozdanova, Nia Karamfilova.
The best Theory of Knowledge essays belong to Stephanie Syarova, Izabella Madjarova, Amalia Markova, Sevay Atakan, Boyan Kabakchiev, Sevay Atakan, Boris Milev, Kamen Kostadinov, Viktoria Grozdanova, Nia Karamfilova, Mihail Gaydarov.

International Baccalaureate Diploma 2025 Top Students: We congratulate all students who have achieved six or seven (max 7) in their International Baccalaureate exams, as such success is highly valued by top universities around the world as it ensures students’ ability to succeed in university education.
This year the top bilingual IB Diplomas were achieved by:

Amalia Markova who is admitted to study Medicine at University of Bologna, Italy. Her IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and History. She achieved an bilingual IB diploma with 36 points and excellent results in English HL, Bulgarian HL, Biology HL and Chemistry HL, an A in her Extended Essay.

Mikhail Bartuli who is admitted to study Management at University of Manchester, United Kingdom. His IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Economics, Physics, Mathematics and German. He achieved a bilingual IB Diploma with 33 points and very good results in his IB subjects and an A in his Extended Essay.

Silvi Koleva who will be studying Humanities and Social Sciences at Sciences Po, France. Her IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, History, Biology, Mathematics and German. She received a bilingual IB Diploma with 36 points. She achieved 7 in English HL, 7 in Bulgarian HL and 6 in History HL.

Mihail Gaydarov who is admitted to study Finance at Universita Cattolica, Italy. His bilingual IB Diploma was with 34 points and his IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Economics, Biology, Mathematics and Digital Society.

Edzhe Aksoy who will be studying Interior Design at Instituto Europeo di Design, Italy. Her IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Economics, Physics, Mathematics and German. She achieved a bilingual IB Diploma with 35 points. She achieved 6, 6, 6 in her high level IB subjects and an A in her Extended Essay.

Alexander Sharpe who will be studying Economics at Seton Hall University, United States. His IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Economics, Digital Society, Physics and Mathematics. Alex achieved a bilingual IB Diploma with 33 points and top marks in Maths, English and Economics.

Nia Karamfilova who is admitted to study Genetics at University of York, United Kingdom. Her IB subjects were English, Bulgarian, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Economics. She received a bilingual IB Diploma with 36 points. She achieved excellent results in English HL, Biology HL and Chemistry HL.

In 2025 Zlatarski International School celebrated 30 years since its establishment. In 2023 Zlatarski International School celebrated 20 years since the introduction of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The school was founded in 1995 as an English language secondary school, and in 2003 it became the first International Baccalaureate (IB) world school in Bulgaria. Today, Zlatarski International School celebrates the highest results in all IB subjects and excellent placement of its IB graduates in the world’s most selective universities and programmes. The experience of Zlatarski International School in teaching the International Baccalaureate, accumulated over the years, helps the school to update and structure its curriculum to offer the best education for our students in Bulgaria.
In September 2025, Zlatarski International School will welcomes a new cohort of 11th graders, who begin their studies in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program with the school’s traditional IB Retreat.
